Microsoft: The Phisher King
This morning I got an email telling me that my 14-day free trial to Zune Music Pass is ending, and I will automatically be signed up for the monthly service at a cost of $9.99 per month, unless I cancel. It also handily provides a link for me to go online and confirm my account and payment details. Whatever happened to BeerScene?
I know it’s hard to believe from the truly amateur feel of this blogsite, but this isn’t my first foray into Web development. In fact, this is the fourth or fifth website I’ve put together. My first (and most widely-read) website was BeerScene. I still get asked about this every so often, so for historical record, here’s the full story. Anyone for a quick game of scrobble?
Ever since I got my iPod I’ve wanted to find a way to list my ‘recently played’ tracks on this Blogsite. There are a few WordPress plugins and widgets that claim to do this, but they all seemed overly-complicated, requiring additional e-mail accounts, modified server permissions, and god knows what else. So what with having a life to live and all, I never found the time to dig into them and get any of them working properly.
