I like small speakers, I like tall speakers
I’m not usually one to tout products, but I got myself a pair of JayBird BlueBuds X Sport for the gym, and they’re pretty damn good, so I thought I’d pass on a good word. Buying music not the medium
For several years now, I’ve been complaining about the need to pay twice for music if you want it in multiple formats. For example, I’ve got a reasonable selection of vinyl, but when CDs came out, they told us that we needed to upgrade to CDs for ‘superior quality’. (And now, ironically, they are marketing vinyl as the ‘purists’ medium!). I didn’t go out and replace all of my vinyl immediately, because I recognized it for the scam it was. Fire Eyed Boy
A couple of weeks ago I took delivery of my latest toy – a Kindle Fire. I’d been eyeing Kindles for a while, and the combination of an ‘expanded functionality’ e-reader (I don’t know that I’d call it a full tablet PC) and a price point of $199.00 (and me having $199.00 worth of Amex Membership Rewards points to spare, for a net cost of zero) made the Kindle Fire an interesting proposition. After three or four years of pretty much daily usage, I finally ran out of space on my first iPod.
